Welcome To First Executive Director!!

Theresa Chelikowsky began working for FLACDC on July 17, 2006 from her home in Columbus, Ohio. She has been involved in the community development field since late 1989 when she was hired as the program officer for the Ohio CDC Association. During her tenure, the organization built its membership base, diversified its funding resources and developed and implemented training programs for the membership in affordable housing, microenterprise and economic development. The organization also advocated for and obtained direct CDC funding from the State of Ohio Department of Development and legislation on making affordable housing a public purpose in Ohio. Since then she has worked as an independent community development consultant in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Georgia and West Virginia.

In 1990 Terry, helped form the Microenterprise Organization of Ohio (MOO), a statewide membership association. She has been responsible for day-to-day operations since that time. MOO provides its member with training, technical assistance and policy and advocacy assistance through conferences, workshops and exhibitions across the state. She also serves as a volunteer on the boards of a neighborhood CDC, Community Capital Development Corporation and the Ohio Community Development Finance Fund. Terry is or has been a member of the Association for Enterprise Opportunity, National Congress for Community Development and BoardSource.

Terry has an M.A. in International Studies from Ohio University and is certified as an Economic Development Professional by the National Development Council. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Belize, Central America in the mid-1980's and remains active in volunteer services in her community.

Terry is responsible for the day-to-day operations of FLACDC which includes public policy and advocacy, education, member services, fund raising and public relations.
